OUR BEGINNING

Black-and-white photo of a house with a striped awning, trees, and a roadside sign.

The funeral home was the home of the Stanford Family. The Stanfords helped the Roberts brothers, Ray and Dale, to purchase their home. They worked for many months to convert the home into Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Ray and Dale served their country in the US Navy during WWII. Ray went to college at Gupton-Jones Mortuary College in Nashville, Tennessee and Dale attended Dallas School of Mortuary Science. Kyle attended school at Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. After graduation he worked in Stillwater, Oklahoma; Larned, Kansas; Aberdeen, South Dakota; and served as general manager of the Baggerley Funeral Homes in Edmond and Oklahoma City. In 1992 Kyle and his wife, Terri, return to Hooker and purchased Roberts Brothers Funeral Home from Dale Roberts.
